October 12th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Blog, Life

Hey!

I’m standing in an Apple shop in the Florida Mall in Orlando, typing with a macbook pro.
My dad is buying my sister her first iPod, my mom is somewhere else. It’s just us out in the state!
We are staying in a villa until my dad leaves, and it’s awesome!! It has giant beds, a 50″ tv, a heated pool and comfy sofas.

Later guys, gonna go look at the macs!

Going to the states!

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, I’ve just been really busy with school and stuff.
Quick recap of last month, went mountain-biking a few times, went to inverness, etc etc.

On Wednesday I’m going to Florida for two weeks, which will be good.

I’m gonna be writting down a blog thing on the plane, and will post it as soon as I get access to the internet.
Me and my mom are gonna be leaving on Tuesday, right after school, to go to Edinburgh.
My dad works down there on weekdays, and he rents a flat. We’re gonna leave at 6am to go to the airport and get a plane to London. 3 hours later, we will be on the plane to the USA!

Alright, that’s all for now, later!

A day in the town

August 30th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Blog, Life

Today me and my friends Sean and Simon went up to Inverness (the city near us).

At 9.15 I heard the door bell ring. 1 min later the head of Sean popped up over the side of my bed (bigass 2meter bunk) and I was like WTF?!
Next thing I know, I’m downstairs, eating cheerios and watching Family Guy on my Sky+ box. At around 10 we went down to the chipshop to meet Simon, whos parents own the shop. After a first to 50 point game of Halo 3, we left. We being my mum, my lil sis, Simon, Sean and me. Instead of paying £8 on a train ticket each, my mum offered to drive us up, as my sister, Jess, was getting her ears peirced.

So, my mum drops us off at the Inverness retail park, and we bought our tickets at the vue cinema. It was 12:15, and the movie was at 12:40, so we had some time to burn. We went across the road to Boots to buy drinks, 3 cokes cost £2.50 there, about £6 at the cinema. After chilling for a bit, we went across to the cinema, and went through to the hall with all the doors and stuff. The lady took our tickets, ripped them in half and stated “Room 7 on your right” in a very bored fashion. After drinking half a bottle of coke and 2 coffees already, I suddenly got the urge to take a pish.

After answering the call of nature, I went back to the doorway, but the bored woman yelled at me, even though she had seen me leave. So I showed her my ticket half and she repeated the same words. “Room 7 on your right.” I walked in, turning off my phone, and looked around to see where Simon and Sean were sitting. The bastards were right at the top, standing up and waving at me.

Overall, the movie was quite good. Some funny moments. LOL funny. The best parts were

“Would you believe that were 100 black-op snipers surronding the building?”
“No.”
“How about 24 marine commandos?”
“No.”
“Well how about Chuck Norris with a bbgun?”

and

Near the end, they are in a car, and they crash it through a building.

Smart says “Well, that was exciting wouldn’t you say?” to the old guy (not those exact words though)
“I would say Holy Sh*t, Holy Sh*t, Holy Sh*t there is a sword 2 inches from my face”

After the movie finished, and dodging a fresh pile of puke outside viewing room 7, we went to over to Tescos to get the bus to the city center. It arrived just as we sat down, typical. 70p for a 2 mile journey with comfey seats. Not too bad.

When we arrived at East Gate (the mall), I switched on my phone, opened the Maps.app and put in the location of “Jimmy Chungs”, an all you can eat chinese restraunt. It took us 5 minutes to get there, as the city was busy. We were seated almost as soon as we walked up the stairs. It cost £6.59 per person, not that bad for the choice of food you get. We handed a tenner each over to the waitress and ordered a coke each. About 5 minutes later, she came back with our change and drinks. Then we dug into unlimited chinese.

Half way through, we saw my friend Finlay, who is a year above me in school, outside with his midget friend and some over guy I have never seen before. I thought nothing about it, untill they walked into the bloody restraunt and sat a few tables across from us.

After pigging out on 3 plates of food + ice cream and jelly, we were about to burst. So we grabbed our jackets, and went outside to get some fresh air. Before we left though, we grabbed a Lollypop each from the counter, and a unopened pack of gum :D. I wasn’t gonna eat the lolly, but instead give it to my sister. Sean, being the idiot that he his, chucked it at about 100 miles per hour down the freaking stairs. It landed with a large bang and shattered into loads of little peices.

After walking off some of the food, we went over to Woolworths to check if they had something or over in stock. I ended up buying 3 packs of gum. Don’t ask. When we walked outside, we were greeted by the popular arsehole, Mark, from our class, and his blonde gf. I say blonde as in blonde and stupid. He managed to con me out of a peice of gum, I don’t know how.

After that time wasting encounter, we went off to the mall. First we went to HMV and Simon bought a couple of UMDs for his PSP, and me and Sean went to Argos to buy the Wii crossbow training game, as Sean recently got a Wii as a bday present. It only took 1 minute, and Simon walked in when number 322 was called. So, with Seans game and Simons UMDs we went over to Starbucks to make the cockup of the day.

We were going to order 3 tall caramel cream frappuccinos to sit in, but Simon was doing the ordering. Simon is shy. Which means he doesn’t like to repeat himself to people working at tills. So he managed to order 3 grande caramel cappucinos to go. Not knowing this, we went over to the little table were they call out the drinks. Sean had gone to get the table, so me and Simon were standing around with some over random people. The asian lady behind the counter called out few drinks, and then an iced coffee. Nobody claimed the coffee, so she gave it to us after about 4 minutes when we finaly got our drinks. I was suprised to see them in stylophome cups, instead out the normal plastic container. Crap. These aren’t frappuccinos! Oh well, we drank them anyways :D

After mucking around at a few shops, we phoned my mum, and she got me to buy 5 bottles of water, and carry out a new suitcase we got for our trip to the states in October. Gonna go visit my granpa who lives in Winter Park, Florida. We loaded all our stuff in the car, and started the 35 minute journey to Kingussie.

We had a pretty good day!

The White Van Man

You might’ve guessed already what this is about, the dirty cowbow builders that you hire to do a nice neat job and end up with a shamble of bricks, mortar and a bill the size of your average longcat.

It’ll start fine, they’ll give a decent price and an hourly pay price within your budget, but oon the demand for tea breaks propells iself off the scale and the job time increases dramatically. If they work untill dark they become lazy and cut corners, which in the long run will end up being the history of your grandmother.

However, there are some companies who are good souls that really want to do honest work for an affordable price, these, as you have gussed already are rarer than not getting divorced which puts house owners in a tight position.

P.S I’ve got some builders in my neighbours house, and they’re always out on the patio chairs having tea and laughin, not an inch of work being done.

August 7th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Blog, Life, Random, Stuff

Hey all!

For me and the other pupils at Kingussie High School, the holidays are almost over. In less than two weeks, we will be back at school, doing boring work, getting up early and getting yelled at by teachers.

The holidays for me were pretty good. We went down to England to vist peoples, then we went to Edinburgh a couple of times, and stayed at my dads flat. When we were in Edinburgh, my mums friend and her family came up. We went to a place called dynamic earth, the up arthurs seat.

I took some pretty good photos, they will be up on my flickr soon.

Thats all peeps!
